삼성전자는 구미사업장(구미스마트시티)이 국내 처음으로 에너지경영시스템부문 국제 규격인 ISO 50001 인증을 받았다고 7월 5일 밝혔다.

ISO 50001은 지난 6월15일 발효된 에너지 관련 국제 규격으로 기업 스스로 에너지 절감 순위를 정해 개선하거나 에너지를 관리하기 위한 사항을 규정하고 있다.

삼성전자는 구미 스마트시티에 녹색경영시스템을 효율적으로 관리함으로써 이 부문 국제 규격 인증기구인 UL MSS Korea에서 ISO 50001 인증을 받았다.

삼성전자 관계자는 "앞으로 에너지 구매와 공급, 사용 과정을 체계적으로 관리해 운영 비용을 최적화하고 기후 변화나 온실 가스 규제와 관련한 국제 동향에 대응력을 높이는 등 녹색 경영을 위한 노력을 계속 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
