삼성전자의 디지털카메라 등 차세대 동력산업인 광학사업의 경북 구미시 이전 투자가 초읽기에 들어갔다.

14일 구미시에 따르면 ㈜삼성전자 '정밀금형기술센터'의 인허가서류를 접수하고 관련기관 및 부서와의 신속한 업무 협의를 통해 접수 당일 국내 유일의 디지털 카메라 생산공장을 구미국가산업단지에 이전할 수 있도록 허가증을 교부했다.

이날 허가증 교부는 남유진 구미시장을 비롯한 관련단체장과 전우헌 삼성전자 공장장, 남재희 한국산업단지공단 대경권본부장, 김용창 구미상공회의소 회장, 중소기업 관련 단체장이 참석한 가운데 허가증이 전달됐다.

이번에 이전 투자하는 삼성전자 디지털이미징사업부 생산공장은 국내 유일의 디지털카메라를 생산하는 사업장으로 약 450명의 근로자가 근무하게 된다.

앞으로 삼성전자는 구미사업장을 중심으로 디지털카메라, 캠코더 등 광학기기 사업을 차세대 성장동력사업으로 휴대폰, 반도체와 같은 삼성의 대표 브랜드로 육성해나간다는 방침이다.

한편 구미시 기업사랑본부 애로대책팀은 지난 1일 삼성 디지털이미징사업부가 삼성전자와 공식합병하고 구미 이전을 발표하자 구미시는 공장 이전에 불편함이 없도록 구미소방서, 한국산업단지관리공단 등 유관기관과 시민만족과등 시 관계부서와 사전검토를 이미 마친 상태다.

시 기업사랑 본부는 지난 2006년 7월 3일 개설해 현재까지 1218건의 기업애로민원 처리한 성과를 거두었다

시 관계자는 "이번 이전 투자로 인해 구미의 중심산업인 IT·모바일·디스플레이와 같은 전후방 산업과의 다양한 시너지 효과를 일으킬 것으로 기대된다"며 "이를 위해 조만간 관계전문가들로 광학산업발전협의회를 구성해 광학산업을 지원하기 위한 방안을 마련해 구미공단의 새로운 대표산업으로 육성해나갈 계획이다"고 말했다.
