구미상공회의소는 지난해 12월부터 최근까지 구미국가산업단지에 공급되는 전력의 순간 전압 강하 현상으로 35개업체가 100여억의 피해를 봤다고 12일 밝혔다.

4월2일 오후 10시9분과 4일 오후 2시44분 등 2회의 순간 전압 강하현상이 벌어지는 등 지난해 12월부터 최근까지 전압 강하현상이 10여 차례 발생했다는 것이 구미상공회의소와 구미공단 입주업체의 주장이다.

화섬업체나 전자업체는 순간 전압 강하현상이 빚어지면 생산이 중단되거나 불량품이 발생하고 재가동에 많은 시간과 비용이 든다며 불만을 나타내고 있다.

이 때문에 구미공단 입주업체 관계자 40여명은 이날 구미상의에서 순간 전압 강하문제와 관련한 대책을 논의하는 간담회를 열었다.

간담회에서 KEC 관계자는 "순간 전압강하로 기업이 입은 피해에 대해 한전 측이 적극적으로 파악하려 노력해봤느냐"며 "천재지변이라고 주장하지만 설비를 보완하든 특단의 대책을 세워야 한다"고 주장했다.

웅진케미컬 관계자도 "피뢰기 파손도 자연현상이고 갤로핑(강풍이 불어 전선간 거리가 좁혀지며 고장전류가 생기는 현상) 현상도 자연현상이고 한전측 입장에 따르면 모두 자연현상이 된다"며 "매번 사유가 발생할 때마다 내놓는 대책이 똑같아 신뢰가 가지 않는데 참 원인을 찾아 지속적인 예방대책을 세워야 한다"고 지적했다.

이에 대해 한국전력 관계자는 "순간 전압강하가 발생된 부분에 대해서는 죄송스럽게 생각한다"며 "갤로핑 현상이나 피뢰기 파손 문제는 대책을 마련하고 있으며 전압 강하를 피하려면 기업이 별도로 시설을 갖춰야 한다"고 말했다.
