7년 전통 경주 안압지 공연 더이상 못본다 |

시내 상권 활성화 위해 도심으로 옮겨 공연
경주의 대표적인 주말 야간 관광상품으로 7년 전통을 이어왔던 안압지 상설공연을 더이상 볼 수 없게 됐다.
6월30일 경주문화관광축제조직위원회에 따르면 도심상권 활성화를 위해 안압지 상설공연을 폐막하고 이번 주말부터 시내 노동ㆍ노서고분군 주변에서 봉황대 상설공연을 개최하기로 했다.
봉황대 상설 공연은 7월3일부터 10월까지 17차례 열린다.
신라궁중 연못인 안압지에서 주말 밤마다 열린 상설공연은 그동안 시민과 관광객들에게 큰 인기를 끌었다.
경주시는 야간 관광상품 개발을 위해 2003년 안압지에 경관조명을 설치하고 이듬해부터 주말 밤마다 다양한 공연을 마련해 올해까지 모두 146차례 공연을 펼쳤다.
이 공연은 2008년 15만여명이 관람해 한해 최고를 기록하는 등 매년 10만명 이상이 찾아 경주의 대표적인 야간 관광상품으로 자리잡았다는 평가를 받아왔다.
그러나 최양식 경주시장 당선인이 안압지 공연이 경제적 효과로 이어지지 않는다는 이유로 부정적인 견해를 밝히고 소비로 연결되는 도심에서 개최하는 방안을 강조하면서 안압지 공연은 막을 내리게 됐다.
축제조직위 김진훈 사무국장은 "안압지는 시내와 떨어져 있어 공연 관람객이 상권으로 흡수되지 못했고 시장 당선인도 이 부분을 강조했다. 도심 상권 활성화를 위해 시내 중심 문화콘텐츠를 새로 발굴하고 관람객이 자연스레 상권에 유입될 수 있도록 시내에서 상설공연을 개최하기로 했다. 시내 공연을 중심으로 하고 안압지와 첨성대 앞에서 몇차례 공연을 하는 것도 검토 중이다."라고 말했다.
