구미 금오산 야영장 유료화 보류 |
|
구미시가 금오산도립공원 야영장의 유료화를 놓고 고민하고 있다.
구미시는 올해 안으로 금오산 야영장을 유료로 운영할 방침이었으나 이를 유보한다고 7월 19일 밝혔다.
시는 현재 무료로 운영되는 야영장을 올해 하반기부터 유료화하기로 하고 상반기에 4억원을 들여 야영시설과 화장실, 샤워장, 운동시설 등을 정비했다.
유료시설로 전환하면 거처가 없는 일부 주민이 장기간 거주하면서 사유화하는 일을 막을 수 있고, 시설 유지와 보수에 필요한 돈을 확보하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 내다봤기 때문이다.
금오산 야영장은 여름이면 평일에도 70~80명이 찾고 주말에는 300명 이상이 찾는 휴식처로 인기를 끌고 있다.
그러나 일부 시민이 비용 부담에 반대하고 야영장 인근 금오산도립공원 상가단지 업주들도 이용객이 줄면 영업에 지장이 생긴다는 이유로 반발해 왔다.
시민 Y(41)씨는 "시설이 더 좋은 곳도 많은데 굳이 돈을 내면서까지 금오산 야영장을 찾지는 않을 것 같다"고 말했다.
이런 반대 의견이 연이어 제기되면서 구미시는 유료화 결정을 미룬 채 내부 논의를 거듭하고 있다.
금오산도립공원관리사무소 장성길씨는 "여러 곳의 의견을 듣고 좀 더 논의를 거쳐서 결정해야 할 것 같다"고 말했다.
